They’ve got a new campaign for the Fall Winter 09/10 Collection starring Jonathan Rhys Meyers, an Irish model who’s also an actor. You’ve seen him in the movie Alexander where he plays the role of Cassander. You’ll get a video from the shootings and a few cool pictures.

The coolest part of the site is the “Energie Style Clash” section where they feature some fun/stupid videos of guys doing all sorts of stuff, with maybe a few words of wisdom from each.

There’s a graffiti artist, two guys wearing suits running around the city probably to get to a late meeting and, the most stupid of all, a naked guy wearing a helmet and running an obstacle course Nice.

Energie Sneakers 2009

Well, the thing that really interests us here, the Energie shoes! They’ve rolled out a few new models for this collection. Only eight…

The thing is they’re not really that outrageous as they used to be. I remember, when I first saw a pair of Energie sneakers, they were the weirdest and coolest shoes I’ve seen.

Now they aren’t like that anymore. They are still cool though. This probably has something to do with the fact that I’ve seen many weird things lately, and my whole idea of strange has changed.

My image of them right now is ‘old school’. The designs are classic and they use a lot of leather. The color combinations will definitely turn head around, though only two models of the collection are multi-colored. The others are black or some combinations of grey.

They didn’t post much information about any of the items in the collection, not even their name or number. I can’t tell you more about except what I got from the first impression. Take a look yourself.

These range from household items to pink M&Ms. Well, New Balance released a special edition of their New Balance 769 running shoe for women with a pink and silver upper. It is the official shoe for the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure.

The company will donate 15 percent of all revenues from the Lace Up for the Cure apparel line, including these sneakers, to fund the research for a cure for breast cancer.

However, at a closer look, the Skechers Shape ups are different and the only thing that resembles the MBT sneakers is the thick rounded sole. It really stands out.

Just like the competition, Skechers claims that  these sneakers will help improve your posture, work on your fats and improve your overall health just by doing your day to day activities.

The Shape Ups line has both shoes and sandals for the summer. You can wear them at the gym, the supermarket or just about anywhere. At least that’s what they say.

I don’t see myself wearing something like this, but I’m in a pretty good physical shape already.

The cool thing is that they are much cheaper that the one from MBT. While you can get a typical pair of MBT sneakers for about $300, a similar pair of shape Ups goes for about $100. A fantastic bargain if you ask me. Take a look here.

Well, I went to New York for six days and, after visiting the whole city, I had to go shopping for sneakers and stuff.

You can’t imagine my surprise when I entered Foot Locker or Famous Footwear, not sure, and ran into a pair of AC-DC sneakers. I was shocked. They’re one of my favorite bands and I instantly fell in love with these shoes.

Well, unfortunately and to my disappointment, they didn’t have my size! Yeah, that really sucked and I felt like smashing something. Thank god I found a pair of Ozzy Osbourne sneakers or I would have probably made some damage in there.

AC DC Converse Sneakers

The sneakers are awesome. They feature a picture of the band on the sides and the well known logo on the sole. Ah, what a shame I couldn’t get them.

I’m not 16 anymore, but having a pair of AC-DC shoes would have definitely been great when hanging out with fellow rockers. The Ozzy’s I bought aren’t bad either, but these would have been my favorite.

The campaign is called “It’s about you” and includes a TV commercial “Driven” featuring Armstrong as narrator and star, moving on in spite of all criticism.

The campaign includes other short films featuring athletes like Jon Lester, Sanya Richards and LaShawn Merritt, as well as actors Patrick Dempsey and Evan Handler, and other cancer survivors including three-time Iditarod winner Lance Mackey and Sean Swarner who is the first cancer survivor to summit Mt. Everest.

The campaign ran through the Tour de France and the Driven video was aired on many TV station like ABC, CBS, Comedy Central, ESPN, FOX, MTV and NBC and on Good Morning America, the Today Show, The Late Show with David Letterman and The Tonight Show with Conan O’Brien.

An offer like this is impossible to refuse and soon the new line of urban sneakers war ready to be released. The new sneakers come in a black/green/red/gold colorway. They also have Damani’s logo on them, as well as the words “Congratulations Player”, the title of the song the caught Adidas attention.

To promote this new shoe, Damani recorded a modern cover of the Run DMC classic “My Adidas” for a marketing campaign with the same name. You can see the video here.

The sneakers will be sold for $100 in only 15 selected stores in Atlanta, Seattle, New York, Boston, Houston, Miami, and Detroit.

On February 21st, Damani will appear at Millenium Sports in Inglewood, California for a shoe signing on the sneaker’s release, and performance alongside other West Coast up-and-comers. With each pair purchased, fans will receive a free mixtape and a special limited edition “Congratulations Player Tee,” created by Undrcrwn.

This move is the result of a trend that started about ten years ago, a rush into wearing sportswear on the street.

Adidas already has the high-fashion Y-3 and streetwear-oriented Originals, which have nothing to do with actual sports. The new Adidas Style Essentials was launched to reach those customers who could not afford to throw fortunes on expensive shoes, like the teenagers who depend on their parents for pocket and clothes money. The new Adidas sneakers are sold for $50 to $70.

Historically, people bought athletic shoes because of the sports that were popular at the moment and not because they were actually going to play. Apparel companies realized that and they started manufacturing lifestyle shoes for the general public, at a much lower cost.

Professional shoes are much more expensive because they demand performance. For the average user, style is much more important.

What’s cool is that you and the person next to you can be wearing sneakers, but you’ll still look different.

So I did some research and managed to put up two articles that pretty much tell everything there is to know about Keds sneakers and their little brothers, PRO-Keds sneakers.

The first three decades since founding, Keds has managed to create a name in the casual canvas shoe market, but did not have any model to compete in the athletic shoe department.

This let to the creation of the PRO-Keds brand in 1949, aimed exactly at professional sports such as basketball and tennis. The new brand took some of the old Keds models and reissued them under a new name and identity.

The suede and nylon shoe even looks like a vintage piece, with washed suede, treated outsoles and yellowed mid-soles.

Somehow, the look very familiar… either they look like another Adidas model that’s currently being sold, or people around these places wear really, really old shoes…
