Skechers Shape Ups to Take Over MBT

Looks like Skechers is up to take over MBT in the athletic/orthopedic shoe niche. They recently released their line called Shape Ups for which my first impression was that it was a complete MBT rip-off.

However, at a closer look, the Skechers Shape ups are different and the only thing that resembles the MBT sneakers is the thick rounded sole. It really stands out.

Just like the competition, Skechers claims that  these sneakers will help improve your posture, work on your fats and improve your overall health just by doing your day to day activities.

Skechers Shape Ups

The Shape Ups line has both shoes and sandals for the summer. You can wear them at the gym, the supermarket or just about anywhere. At least that’s what they say.

I don’t see myself wearing something like this, but I’m in a pretty good physical shape already.

The cool thing is that they are much cheaper that the one from MBT. While you can get a typical pair of MBT sneakers for about $300, a similar pair of shape Ups goes for about $100. A fantastic bargain if you ask me. Take a look here.

Well, I’ve written a more in-depth post about Skechers Shape Ups and you should check it out.

My wife and I each have a pair and go on walks almost every other day. Hands down one of the top most comfortable shoes I’ve ever worn. And believe me…i’ve worn a lot of shoes. (47yrs old). I like to think i’m in good shape for my age…but it’s really the comfort that impresses me. I’m not trying to firm my rear! Thanks.

I totally agree with Rubert! The comfort of Skechers Shape Ups is fantastic, once i put them on i really don’t want to take them off! Its like walking on cushiony clouds 🙂 AND the fact that they have been toning my thighs and improving my posture is a huge bonus! I’d recommend these to anyone

I hate these things. They have done a totally poor substitution of the original MBT. Don’t buy them! The original MBT’s help my back, and improve my core strength, They’re also the most comfortable shoes I’lve ever worn. That’s for the last 4 years. I doubt the imitators will last that long.
