Puma Street Yaam

The fastest shoes on the planet

After the Jamaican Usain Bolt broke the world record at 100 meters in Berlin, everybody became interested in his out of the ordinary orange kicks, the Puma Street Yaam.

Puma, Usain’s official sponsor, designed these shoes specially for him and they chose the orange color precisely to contrast with the blue color of the Berlin track. That was surely successful because after the race, everybody was talking about his incredible time and the shoes.

The Street Yaam weighs only 149 grams, making it the lightest power sprint shoe in the world. Officially, the design was inspired by the art of Jeff Koons, known for his giant balloon animals, often in striking colors.

For those of you who want to be fast as a bullet, Puma released the exact same model in Japan where it already got sold out. They’re going to release it soon in all major markets, the US and Europe.

While the spikes and the design make the Street Yaam ideal for the track, they are pretty uncomfortable for everyday use. So, Puma released a street version that keeps the same upper that Usain used to win the gold, but has a classic H street bottom.

The combination of orange, yellow and green plus the giant Puma logo will definitely make this shoe one of this year’s bestsellers. With an endorsement from the world’s fastest man, it can only be good news for the new Puma Street Yaam sneaker.

If I could only get a pair of these…
