Recycle Your Sneakers (OurSports Central)

(Central Islip, N.Y., Jan. 5, 2009) - Long Island Ducks team officials today announced that the organization has once again joined Keep Islip Clean in their efforts to recycle used sneakers for Nike's "Reuse-A-Shoe" program.

New Balance 991

Probably the best running shoe of all time: New Balance 991

The New Balance 991 is an outstanding shoe for running and day to day use (even some cross training). They provide ample support, wear well and are well ventilated.

Don't take a chance when you buy running shoes. The New Balance 991 is probably the best for this kind of activity, especially if you’re looking to achieve some performance. For a heavier runnier who needs support you can't do any better.

Even for a non-athletic person, using the shoes for daily typical tasks such as shopping, errands, hanging out, etc, is so comfortable that you fell like walking on clouds. I have owned many shoes over the years, and these are probably 1 of the 2 most comfortable shoes I have ever owned.

New Balance 991They are extremely durable, as all sneakers should be. They are more expensive, but you really get 2-3 shoes worth of wear out of a single pair.

People have reported that they’re particularly useful for people who spend most of their working time on their feet, such as nurses or postmen. The New Balance 991 shoe ensures they never go home with sore feet.

Now I see that people buy the 991 not only for its performance but also because Apple’s founder, Steve Jobs also wears them, as it was seen on an interview he did some time ago. Hey, why not?

Unfortunately, the New Balance 991 is no longer manufactured but don’t worry, the New Balance 992 is now available and it follows the tradition that 991 and the whole line of New Balance running shoes has left.
