MBT Conducts Study In UK

In an attempt to become better known in the shoe industry, MBT, or Swiss Masai Barefoot Technology conducted a study last month which showed a somewhat disturbing result.

The study revealed that injuries induced by high heeled shoes are quite frequent in the United Kingdom (and most likely the rest of the world). The most common affections are twisted ankles, bunions and ingrown toenails.

Most interestingly, the money spent on corrective surgeries for these affections amount to 29 million pounds a year, roughly $46 million.

The study was conducted in Liverpool and Manchester and it appears that 45 of the women there wear high-heels all week long and about four of of ten women suffered of some form of injury at some time.

These results confirm for the shoes that MBT has been promoting for a few years. MBT is specialized in manufacturing corrective shoes, that help you achieve a correct upright position when walking.

Another effect that has been long debated was whether MBT sneakers also help reduce cellulite. So far, studies shoe they do, but the dispute still exists.

The thing is that MBT sneakers have a pretty unusual shape (or weird) that makes them somewhat un-cool to most people. But if you’re serious about correcting your posture, they are the solution.
