Recycle Your Sneakers (OurSports Central)

(Central Islip, N.Y., Jan. 5, 2009) - Long Island Ducks team officials today announced that the organization has once again joined Keep Islip Clean in their efforts to recycle used sneakers for Nike's "Reuse-A-Shoe" program.

Designer Sneakers

A lot of people are passionate about various sneakers manufacturers and want to have as many of their products as possible. Some even have entire collections.

But there are others who like designer sneakers, which they know that were, if not directly designed, at least supervised by their favorite designers.

These days, most fashion designers who respect themselves, have their own footwear lines.

Designer sneakers, unlike the ones made by the big companies in the business, have something more to them. There is somewhat of a myth surrounding them.

People generally consider them as being of higher quality because designers tend to dedicate a lot of time into their creations. And some of these designers also have their own worshops where talented workers skillfully make each pair.

This, on the other hand, makes them a little more expensive than the regular competition. But you’re not only buying the shoe, your also paying for the name. Hey, who wouldn’t want to wear a Gucci? Take a look at Gucci sneakers.

Another fashion house that manufactures designer sneakers is Prada, one of Italy’s fashion industry leaders. Brought even more into the mainstream with the hit movie 'The Devil wears Prada', the fashion house is now at its top and Prada sneakers are in high fashion.

Japanese designer Eye Candy Nigo has his own apparel company named ‘A Bathing Ape’ and it’s line of Bape sneakers is one of the most exclusive in the world. You can find his shoes only in about a dozen well hidden stores in the world.

Ralph Lauren is also an important player in this business and his line of Polo sneakers ads a fine touch of English style to the range of designer sport shoes available.
