Alvin Purple, the Newest Release from Asics

With an anticipation that is worthy of a blockbuster movie, Asics is running out with a brand new pair of running sneakers, strategically named “Alvin Purple”. With a blend of colors raging from light blue to violet and dark grey, the white polka dotted shoe laces make it a pleasure just watching them.

Announced to hit the shelves on October 1, it is most likely to follow on the success of the previous Gel Lyte III which has been around for a couple of years.

The colorful assembly also includes a sizable portion of high quality suede, as well as the usual shiny mesh that lets your feet breathe. All this ru ns on a crispy white sole that is accentuated with grey on the mid foot.

The distinctive Asics stripes on the Alvin Purple have different colors on the interior side than on the exterior. The almost blue or light purple on the exterior turns into a pure black on the inside. But I’ve got to say that the polka-dot laces are a really nice touch and definitely make you focus on them.

As for comfort, we can’t say anything yet, but if history is worth something, I’m sure Asics will provide us with yet another fine sneaker that makes it a pleasure to go out for a run.
